Pompeii Ruins

The "Pompeii Ruins" stand as a unique, ancient landmark in the heart of the "Sunset Town," facing directly out to the open sea. Rising dozens of meters high, the structure serves as a gateway inviting visitors to explore the ancient city of Pompeii during its golden age—featuring numerous European-style architectural elements meticulously recreated by Sun Group, such as fountains and triumphal arches.

Over 2,000 years ago, on the shores of the Mediterranean, Pompeii was a bustling city at the height of the Roman Empire. With a population of 20,000, it was renowned for its olive oil and grape production. Situated less than 10 kilometers southwest of Mount Vesuvius—which stands 1,277 meters above sea level—the city's residents had grown accustomed to the occasional stirrings of this volcanic giant. Located approximately 20 kilometers from the beautiful Bay of Naples, Pompeii was a prime resort destination, boasting a picturesque setting where the mountains met the sea. Ultimately, however, a massive eruption of Mount Vesuvius buried the entire city.

Over time, the ancient city of Pompeii faded into oblivion, only to be rediscovered by chance sixteen centuries later. To date, 69 structures of varying sizes have been excavated. Today, the ruins of Pompeii are recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and stand as one of Italy's premier tourist attractions, drawing an average of 2.5 million visitors annually.
